Fibonacci Films is a neoteric independent film company based in Los Angeles founded in 2016. Chairman Greg Clark, a Silicon Valley entrepreneur and CEO of the American software company Symantec along with actor, writer, producer Victoria Hill, created Fibonacci Films to produce and finance independent films predicated on character-driven stories of originality across genres that push boundaries, create discussion and have strong theatrical potential.
Fibonacci Films has the unique distinction of being a vertically integrated company capable of developing, financing and producing films in-house giving them the ability to seize promising opportunities when they arise.
In 2018, Fibonacci Films released the critically acclaimed film First Reformed, written and directed, by seminal screenwriter/director Paul Schrader (Raging Bull, Taxi Driver) who received a 2019 Oscar nomination for Best Screenplay and Spirit Award nomination for Best Director and Screenplay. The film stars actor Ethan Hawke, nominated for the Spirit Award for Best Actor. The film co-stars Amanda Seyfried and Victoria Hill. First Reformed was released theatrically in the US by A24 on May 18, 2018.
Next on the Fibonacci slate is The Chaperone, based on Laura Moriarty’s best-selling novel and adapted for the screen by Academy Award®-winning writer Julian Fellowes (Gosford Park, Downton Abbey) opening nationally in April. The film stars Academy Award® and Emmy nominated actress Elizabeth McGovern (Ragtime, Downton Abbey) as a Wichita, Kansas woman whose life is forever changed when she chaperones a 15-year-old to New York for the summer, the soon-to-be famous silent-movie star of 1920s, ‘Flapper’ Louise Brooks played by Haley Lu Richardson (The Edge of Seventeen, Five Feet Apart) Miranda Otto, Campbell Scott, Victoria Hill and Golden Globe nominated actress Blythe Danner also star with Michael Engler directing.
In February of 2018, Fibonacci Films partnered with Stuart Ford, founder and former CEO of IM Global, as a founding investor in Ford’s newly announced international film and television production and licensing company, AGC Studios.
Fibonacci Films will be launching its Australian entity in 2019.
